The Kamon Tradition
Starting in Kagoshima, Japan, third Generation Sushi Chef Takao "Taka-san" Kozono opened Kamon in 1989. This was no small feat considering he traveled overseas in order to bring delicious, traditional flavors to his U.S. restaurant.
Kamon has always embodied the importance of family dining and authentic Japanese flavors by using only the best ingredients and treating each patron as if they were family. As the future for Kamon changes, these important values will remain.
A New Era for Kamon
Arrives in 2016
The Kamon tradition will continue on through the work of Taka-san's son, James Kozono. James, who himself is a restaurateur has been at his father's side since Kamon opened and will continue to follow in his father's footsteps by maintaining the authenticity created by Taka-san while also infusing new creations with help from his chefs who know the importance of genuine Japanese flavors and modern plating.
Kamon looks forward to serving its loyal patrons as well as inviting new friends to discover its new enticing menu, one that does not abandon its authentic Japanese roots even as it embraces our modern cravings
